A REAL SOLUTION to the housing crisis has been proposed by two very well-respected
economists from Columbia University: Glenn Hubbard (bio) and Chris
Mayer (bio).
Their proposal has been featured in the Wall Street Journal under the title “First, Let’s
Stabilize Home Prices.” The proposal gained additional exposure on National
Public Radio in a report titled: “Bailout
Critics Say It Won't Fix Underlying Problem.” In the report, Mr. Hubbard and
Mr. Mayer shared sentiments that the government
and lenders needed to step in and make homes more affordable for homeowners and
homebuyers.
